I’m a regular, Southern guy, born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I joined the Army at 17 and served for seven years as a communicator. Got out, went to school at the University of Oklahoma earning a Bachelor of Fine Art in graphic design. While in school I also served with the Oklahoma National Guard as an Infantryman while also Commissioning with OU’s ROTC and rejoined the Army as an Aviator flying the UH-60 Blackhawk. I finally retired as a Major at Fort Cavazos (Fort Hood) in 2022 and now live in Houston, Texas with my family of five.

Hello I’m a self taught realism artist from Ohio. I learned of my talent at a young age and had the normal art classes growing up. I decided after graduating I wanted to become a Marine so I went to bootcamp in 1997. I have been honing my skills through practice and love to use colored, pastel or graphite pencils to do my art. Pen and Ink. That's me. Detailed realistic inks, sometimes based on comic book art, mostly just renderings that use stipple, or lines or both. Also, oils, watercolor, and whatever I want to try. I did many painting on a Mac, when I worked as an artist for the Navy at TOPGUN. So, I've done a lot of digital, meant as magazine illustrations. But, I am back to my first love; pen and ink. I like coloring the ink work, so I publish both when I do a new drawing. You can put a LOT of my art on totes, mugs, t-shirts, so on. I am an old decrepit Vietnam veteran, so my art reflects that. I mostly sell prints, framed, canvas, posters, and even t-shirts, mugs and totes.

Pretty much self-taught entirely. I bounce between Illustration and Landscapes for the most part, equally loving both. I'm most at home with a pencil in hand, but I'm just as happy with a paintbrush. My landscapes are normally in acrylic on canvas, but I also work in watercolor and pastel. Illustrations are started in pencil and could remain in pencil or move to ink and marker or watercolor or some mixed media. I spent 28 years in the Air Force and ANG, almost all of which I was an Aircraft Hydraulics Mechanic. I worked on KC-135's, C-5's, C-141's, a little on C-130's and F-16's. My career took me all over the world, Okinawa, Diego Garcia, Japan, Saudi, Kuwait, Africa, Western Europe, UK, and Iraq.

But, I fear that people behind me, like my grandchildren, will never see much of what is or was out there. We have not been good stewards to the earth. I started drawing, thanks to my father, around age 5 and it just kinda got out of control! Formal training at Virginia Commonwealth University, but restlessness drove me to join the Army and I stayed for 20 years. I’m now retired and living in Florida where I get plenty of inspiration for painting and I get to ride my motorcycle year round! My media includes oils, acrylics, pencil, and getting back into pottery!
