About the Artist:
Jimmy Clark Jr. is a self-taught and emerging acrylic painter, originally from Louisiana but resides in Florida by way of Virginia. A retired veteran and civil servant, he draws inspiration from his global travel and life experiences. He creates abstract and landscape paintings that reflect his passion for art, which he rekindled after following a conventional career path. He has been featured in several publications, such as Spotlight Contemporary Art Magazine and Artguide Magazine, and has won numerous awards, such as the International Prize PHOENIX for the Arts, Art Collector’s Award-tied for Second, Masterful Mind Award Winner, Circle Foundation for the Arts – 2024 and Premier Artist Prize, Contemporary Art Station. He has also participated in Art Basel, Miami 2023. Jimmy Clark Jr.'s artwork is a reflection of his diverse life experiences and emotions. His paintings reflect the unpredictability and complexity of human feelings, from chaos and confusion to order and stability. He uses colorful brush strokes and textures to create images that astound and inspire his viewers. His art goes beyond visual appreciation and touches the intangible realms of the mental, psychological, spiritual and emotional. He is guided by the philosophy of Albert Einstein: “Creativity is contagious, pass it on”.
He holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management from Webster University. He is also affiliated with various art organizations, such as the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic, International Association of Visual Artists, National Oil and Acrylic Painter's Society, Black Art in America, and St. Augustine Art Association.
