About the Artist:
I was born in St. Louis and raised in Southern California. As a kid, I drew on everything from scraps of paper to the walls of the house. My parents were proud and supportive of my ability, yet I was not encouraged to study art in college or pursue it as a career. Throughout my twenties I jumped in and out of college and various jobs, finally landing in the United States Navy, where I learned how to be an adult during tours of duty in Spain and Maryland. Meeting in Spain, my husband and I were married in Gibraltar. Through all of our travels and adventures over the next years I never lost the need to express myself artistically but found myself renovating houses and raising children rather than painting. I had a little flutter of success with a gallery in Baltimore in the early 2000s, but for a variety of reasons I put my brushes away for a few more years. Now I am truly home again, back in Missouri with my own studio on a little hobby farm with my husband of 36 years and a surplus of barn cats, surrounded by thousands of acres of unspoiled forest and sparkling clean waterways. I can only wonder at my good fortune to have landed in a place of peace and harmony with Nature. Now it is finally my turn to express myself without limits, even scribbling and painting on the walls, just as I did as a child.
