About the Artist:
Jonathan is a retired USAF Chaplain whose 30-year Army Reserve and Regular Air Force military career encompassed multiple combat and medical assignments, including tours in Iraq and ministry alongside wounded service members and medical personnel. His work explores trauma, sacrifice, spiritual endurance, grief, healing, and the unseen emotional realities carried by those who serve.
Drawing from lived experience in combat and clinical ministry settings, his art seeks to preserve stories often overlooked in traditional narratives of war — particularly those involving caregiving, moral courage, and compassionate service under extreme conditions.
His acrylic works frequently combine symbolism, fractured forms, texture, and military imagery to explore the lasting human impact of conflict and survival. Jonathan is a 100% disabled veteran. He sees his Parkinson’s Disease and combat-related PTSD not as obstacles, but as fissures through which creativity and purpose are fulfilled.
