About the Artist:
My name is Kent McInnis and I have a story to tale. I would like to introduce you all to “The Adventures of Boxcar and Innes Red; All Roads Taken.” A graphic autobiography, based on true events of my life. Innes Red, my adopted persona, derives from an insatiable need to test the limits. Picture a kid born with a shit-eating grin and a daredevil’s soul. I was born in 1973 smack dab in the middle of Gen X. That’s right, drinking out of garden hoses, no helmets, nor rubber matted playgrounds. As for Boxcar, our paths crossed while I was living close to a train station. He passed many years ago. In my works, he plays the role of my conscience. Through the years, the poor guy’s resolve has been tested.
“The Adventures of Boxcar and Innes Red” is a collection of narrative works. Hand drawn, cut, and printed linoleum blocks. Graphite sticks, permanent makers, and wood gouges are used to render the imagery. Hope y’all enjoy the work! Red.
